S.D. Herman Co., Inc. was established in 1947 by Sigmund D. Herman, an architect and certified public accountant, who with his family, relocated to Los Angeles from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since 1947 our firm has specialized in the sales, leasing and management of industrial real estate in Southern California, with emphasis in Los Angeles County. Our sales activity includes both User Buyers and Investor Buyers. Our office is located at 1201 South Olive Street, Los Angeles, directly across from the AT&T Building. We currently manage approximately 4 million square feet of leased industrial buildings for both outside owners and for partnership or tenant in common investor groups our office has developed. Our management responsibilities include every responsibility of ownership, including major and minor repairs and maintenance, annual insurance evaluation, real estate tax review, rent collection, supervision of both security and fire sprinkler alarm monitoring, billings for annual insurance and real estate tax increases, maintaining insurance liability certificates from all management tenants, as well as leasing and sales. Current officers of our firm are: Gary J. Herman, Sr., President, Gary J. Herman, Jr., Vice President, Gregory A. Herman, Vice President, and Sean Herman. Beginning in 1960 our firm's management has held leadership roles in both the American Industrial Real Estate Association and the Los Angeles Association of Realtors. These leadership roles have allowed our management team the opportunity to develop and maintain an excellent relationship with our fellow industrial real estate brokers and salespersons, which we believe is very important to the owners we represent, since the majority of all industrial real estate transactions are cooperative transactions with outside brokers.
